Financial Operations Manager

We market and distribute emergency preparedness and supplement products in the direct-to-consumer market, and are searching for a driven, detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team.n The Manager of Financial Operation’s Mission is to protect the cash and assets.

You will be responsible for ensuring that processes are put into place to keep the Company’s cash flows, in and out, protected and guarded against external risk factors.

nn nn This role requires someone who values accuracy and getting things right the first time since the Company relies on data to make decisions.

This role also requires an excellent communicator since the sharing of information is essential to ensure truth in financial reporting.

In addition, this role requires a self-starting, problem solver who takes pride in and ownership of their work.

nn nn This is a unique opportunity for growth by getting in on the ground floor with a business that is expanding its Finance and Accounting practice.

In the short term, the Finance Manager will demonstrate an in depth understanding of our core business and products, key stakeholders and current processes.

The Finance Manager will perform the responsibilities detailed below at a superior level before leveraging this knowledge and working with the Director to create a new Finance practice (in 6-12 months).

At this stage, the Finance Manager will be charged with defining and building out the finance team and developing and/or refining scalable and repeatable processes.

The Finance Manager will lead the Finance team to success, according to the goals and priorities agreed upon, having been a player and now serving as coach.

nn Primary Responsibilities: nn Lead / manage the finance team , providing coaching and motivation to achieve goals and develop team members (Fraud &Risk Analyst, Staff Accountant, AP Specialist and Financial Operations Accountant).

Build and optimize a scalable Accounts Payable and Payroll practice.

Monitor and Manage the day-to-day financial operations within the Company (Accounts Payable, Payroll, Invoicing and other transactions) Develop, monitor and manage processes to ensure the company is in compliance with their sales tax collection/remittance procedures.

Develop and manage the Fraud and Risk reporting and analysis process within the Company.

Working closely with the Director and the Analyst(s) to develop scalable practices to protect the Company against fraud and limit exposure to risk – specifically in an eCommerce environment.

Work with the Director to develop and implement strategies to limit the probability of financial loss Monitor and manage merchant account health Manage the outside financial and merchant bank relationships Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the Finance Department of the Company Provide support to VP of Finance and Director of Finance & Accounting, as requested.

nn Qualifications: nn Bachelor’s Degree
– preferably in Accounting or Finance CPA or imminent certification, preferred but not required Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience, preferred Exposure to manufacturing, distribution or e-commerce industries, preferred General exposure to common risks and potential fraud methods in an online retail environment Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations Thorough understanding of General Leger and Reporting Systems Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases Effective verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical skills and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to collaborate and communicate within a multi-department environment Ability / desire to lead and supervise a team nn Skills and Abilities: nn nn Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate within a dynamic multi-department environment to achieve common goals; organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; take ownership and be self-motivated and resourceful to find problem solutions; be data and results driven; and learn quickly in a fast paced, open plan environment.
