Maintenance Technician | Houseman | PM Shift

McNeill Hotel Company

This is a Full-time position in Germantown, TN posted June 6, 2021.

SUMMARY: Responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the hotel as directed by the Chief

Engineer and General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively and professionally communicates with co-workers and supervisorFollows company policies and proceduresEnsures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are correctedAdministers the preventative and repair maintenance program as required, properly completing work orders on timeRecord and report completed repairs and items that need further attentionAdhere to all local, state, federal laws and safety regulationsCompletes training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelinesInform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the safety and security of hotel guests, staff and assetsEnsure the security of all inventory, including but not limited to, tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, and televisionsReplenishes supplies and inventory efficiently to minimize wasteProvides a professional image at all times through appearance and dressMeets with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of, and products and materials used in, repair activitiesObtains pricing and bids as directedOther duties as assigned by supervisor or managementPerforms tasks assigned by Executive Housekeeper (cleaning rooms, vacuuming corridors, cleaning public areas, washing windows, stripping guest rooms of trash and linen etc)Light maintenance (changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, etc)Remove dirty linen from housekeeping attendant’s carts and replaces with clean linenStock all storage rooms with suppliesResponsible for signing out appropriate keys and Quore devices to maintain contact with other departmentsReview Quore or pass on log and handles guest issues needing immediate attentionObtain the appropriate house person checklist for AM/PM to complete and turn in at the end of the shiftInspect the interior and exterior of the hotel for safety, cleanliness, and conditions of the building while documenting concerns within QuoreExpected to notify management immediately with emergency situationsMaintains security for guests and property by following all security and safety regulationFollows company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned by supervisor or management
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

A minimum of 2 years-experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services for a hotel.Certification and/or License Requirement: Professional certification and licensure ifrequired by law.

Minimum Type III EPA Certification for refrigerant reclamation andcharging.
Skills:
Technical crafts (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).

Specialization in these trades is desired.

An ability to advance knowledge in these areas is essential.Customer serviceInterpersonal skillsAttention to detailAbility to monitor contractor activityAbility to read, write, and speak the English language
Working Conditions:
Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidaysWill be required to work in a fast-paced environmentFrequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrationThe noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud

A significant portion of time will be spent moving about the hotel and frequent lifting of up

to 75 pounds and carrying of up to 25 pounds may be required.

Reading and writing abilities are utilized in order to document or record all tasks delegated

and completed, to order supplies or to read and understand equipment manuals and plans.

Reasoning abilities are always utilized.

Basic mathematical abilities are utilized a significant

portion of the time.

This person will need to be able to react quickly in emergency situations and make decisions

that may involve the safety of others or a great amount of money.
