Depot Manager

Company DescriptionDO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO JOIN THE TECHO-BLOC TEAM?We are seeking creative, dynamic candidates for a Depot Manager for our growing distribution network in Archdale, NC and Nashville, TN.Techo-Bloc manufactures pavers, retaining walls and masonry product that set industry standards for quality, design, and durability.

Our growing distribution network is expanding and we are continuing to develop and better serve those expanding markets.We are a family owned business and foster a positive environment in which team spirit, employee values and fairness in all employee matters are emphasized.Job DescriptionThe Depot Manager will be responsible for leadership and managing 2-4 distribution yards within the region.

They will be responsible for inventory management and expected to develop specific strategies per site to help further market penetration of Techo-Bloc products.

Depot Manger will work directly with sales to align company goals and expectations thus creating an appealing destination for Techo-Bloc customers.

The Depot Manager will be expected to travel regularly to each location s/he oversees.

They will be held accountable for all the activities and functions performed at each site and expected to provide weekly updates, concerns, and recommendations to the Director of Distribution.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEmployee Management:* Ensure all employees are properly trained for their position* Manage time off requests and schedules in coordination with the yard coordinator* Perform quarterly reviews of the yard coordinators to ensure expectations are being met* Partner with the yard coordinators to assess the quarterly reviews from the forklift operatorsOnsite Management: Travel to all assigned distribution yards* Develop a travel schedule that will be approved by the Director of Distribution* Book travel events while being responsible and cost effective (company credit card will be issued)* Effectively manage time while traveling and maximize activities when visiting the sitesReplenishment: Responsible for replenishment of all assigned distribution locations* Define accurate MIN MAX levels per site by using tools within AX and PowerBI* Review MIN MAX levels monthly to ensure the proper service levels and turnover ratios are being met and make necessary improvements* Firm MRP demands and any backorders at least 4 times daily according to the predetermined MRP run times* Create replenishment trucks to the sites from their respective hubs creating a consistent stream of trafficInventory Management: Inventory must be accurate and properly packaged and positioned* Enforce a regular inventory count in each yard to verify physical counts match the inventory in AX* Validate counts when onsite by spot checking several items* Monitor the proper turn of inventory onsite (IE, oldest shipped first)* Put a plan in place per site to ensure all pallets are properly packaged and stored according to TB standards* Monitor items with poor turnover and present a strategy to the Director of Distribution to move these items* Create designated areas that are protected from debris to store marketing material* Work with yard coordinators on yard layouts to increase loading and unloading efficienciesDistribution Image: Yards and warehouses are expected to maintain high levels of cleanliness* Validate the team is keeping the yard from debris (IE, shrink wrap, bags, connectors, pallets)* With work yard coordinators to identify areas of the yard that need repaired and propose the plan to the Director of Distribution to have these corrected* Secure the lawn maintenance contracts per site if required* Secure cleaning contract for office space if required or put a plan in place with onsite team to ensure office area is kept cleanCustomer Orders: Fulfilling orders, partial pallets, and sample requests for customers and sales reps* Educate the team on the expectations of product quality when pulling orders and samples* Validate orders are completed within the allotted time frame and work with the yard coordinators to maximize productivity* Monitor loading accuracy, work with yard coordinators to put a plan in place that will reduce/eliminate loading errorsAdministrative Duties: Receive invoices, order supplies, create purchase orders* Approve and forward all monthly invoices to the AP department promptly* Approve purchase requisitions from yard coordinators and place orders for all supplies required at the site (IE, Staples, Uline)* Receive all PO’s created in AX and attach the appropriate information, allowing AP to properly process the paymentsSafety: Ensure a safe work environment for both employees and customers* Maintain accurate forklift certification records for the team at each site* Purchase all required PPE and train the team on proper use* Meet with local municipalities/cities and fire marshals’ when yearly inspections are completed to assure complianceEquipment maintenance: Keep records and schedule maintenance for equipment* Ensure the team is completing all daily onsite maintenance functions (IE, grease chains, check tire pressure and fluids)* Secure vendors for maintenance and repairs to existing equipmentQualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
